FOOTBALL: BILEL Mohsni let his feet do the talking by firing Southend United to a 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at Roots Hall on Saturday, writes Chris Phillips. On the eve of the game, the Frenchman confessed he would be changing his hair style to end cruel taunts from opposition supporters.
But he instead quietened the visiting fans by scoring the only goal of the game to keep Blues top of the League Two table.
“I guess scoring the winner is the best way to stop the fans shouting at me and I’m really pleased,” said the Frenchman.
“It was a hard game for us but we battled hard and got the three points to keep us top, so it was a perfect match.”
Mohsni’s goal came 16 minutes from time when he slid home the rebound from a low Ryan Hall free-kick which had been parried out by Crewe goalkeeper Steve Phillips.
