Residents turn to clampers to stop dodgy parking

7:15pm Tuesday 21st February 2012

RESIDENTS in a private road in Grays have grown so fed up with parents on the school run parking dangerously, they have taken up the services of a clamping company.

Meesons Lane is used by lots of parents taking their children to nearby Stifford Primary.

Residents voted under the Meesons Lane Management Company, to instruct a clamping company to operate in the area during morning and afternoon school runs after growing tired of parents obstructing paths and parking dangerously.

There are now notices up in the road to warn motorists.

One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “If you have a buggy or a wheelchair you have to go down the road as there is not enough room on the path, its really dangerous.

“There are notices up but people are still parking down there.”

The company’s charges range from £40 to £420.
