Wedding day farce for Courts Players
8:00am Sunday 5th February 2012

THE trials and tribulations of a couple preparing for their wedding has been captured by the Thurrock Courts Players.
The players’ latest production Fur Coat and no Knickers documents the big day of Mark Greenhalgh and Deidre Ollerenshawe in Rochdale in 1972 by Mike Harding.
In the build up to exchanging their vows, events conspire to cause havoc for the couple.
During his stag night, Mark ends up being thrown out of a strip club and chained to a lamp post in the town centre along with a lifesize blown up rubber doll, coupled with a drunk priest who is marrying the couple the following day.
The play will take audiences through the wedding ceremony as well as the reception as the two families attempt to get along with each other.
A spokesman for Thurrock Courts Players said: “The play is brilliantly funny.
“Everyone wants their wedding day to be a happy one but it is just not going to be so easy for Mark and Deidre.
“The last time we performed this play it proved to be one of the most popular we have ever produced, so tickets are already going fast.”
To book tickets for the play, at the Thameside Theatre in Grays, playing for three nights from February 9, call the box office on 08453 005264.
